So this is either:. Trump knows supporting Jordan for speaker will push Rinos to vote for McCarthy. So Trump supports McCarthy. Reverse black cat theory.

Or:. Trump really thinks McCarthy will do a good job.

I can't really see it any other way.

Or, unless Trump can convince the Freedom caucus defectors to support KM, the Dems might be able to get their own choice of speaker installed.

Open to ideas about how that could happen. Is there a worse speaker pick that the Dems would like? John Curtis could fit that bill IMO. Though only if a speaker vacate their seat unexpectedly can this happen.

edit- John Curtis reeks of RINO/Undercover Dem IMO I am sure there are many. He was installed after Chaffetz was removed under threat.

These candidates are elected by their party members at the organizing caucuses held soon after the new Congress is elected. In cases of an unexpected vacancy during a Congress a new Speaker is elected by a majority of the House from candidates previously chosen by the two parties.
