This is a little bit clickbait-y.
They (Apple) are actually warning about the use of those plastic shutters that people stick onto their laptop screens to slide over their camera. You can still stick a piece of tape or even a post-it-note on there if you don't want to use something with so much adhesive.
Some Lenovo Windows laptops come with shutters built into the bezel of the display, so as not to fuck with the tight tolerance that exists between the display and the body of the laptop. These aren't the chonky brick laptops of old. Things are getting more slimmed down with each generation, eventually reaching a point of diminishing returns because these things aren't tablets. There's no space for anything in there. Especially when it's all glass that extends to the very edge of the display casing, because that's what people have come to demand nowadays. You can also blame Apple for that.
In any case, you can still cover your camera, just make sure it doesn't impact the ability to close your laptop's lid, else you raise the risk of ending up with a cracked display at some point.
Or just get a regular laptop. Sure it weighs a bit, but it won't throw a fit if you cover the camera. Heck, it might not have one!
I'm all over it... regular laptop + sparkly smiley 😁sticker over the camera👌
