Hi Ashland. You are correct, but the majority of patients that wake up while still vented remain disoriented especially if it is the result of a traumatic event. In my experience I have found that patients have short-term memory loss in regards to their precipitating events. I do believe in miracles by God. If the reporting is accurate(I question everything NOW) I have a hard time buying that the patient has no cognitive deficits and is asking appropriate questions....

So in the picture of him with his parents sitting in hospital bed he just appears to have oxygen but the IV isn’t hooked up to additional tubing and all the machines are turned off. I would think if it’s that bad that he still needs to be in hospital he would have an IV and if not they would just send him home with oxygen cause open heart surgery patients get sent home within a couple days if everything goes good
