Everyone benefits even from light exercise. If you can only sit in a chair and lift weights, or you can go for even a 10 minute walk, or do some pull ups or push ups, you'll benefit.
As an introvert and asocial type, it was like night and day when I was walking. I didn't even really notice until I became more sedentary again due to an ankle injury that I have been trying to figure out for the past few months.
Also, I have the genes to put on muscle fast but you also lose it faster than you think too. So when you see and feel all your gains slowly ebbing away, that's a source of stress too.
Even if you have to use a cane, even if you are alone and prefer it that way, I will always encourage the most introverted to get as many walks a week in as they can.

I agree that simple stretches and lifting with water bottles and doing lots of reps is far better than nothing.
