The petition asks the court to find the president and lots of congressmen guilty of treason without there ever being a trial. They'll never do that, and we sure as hell wouldn't want them to.

The three branches are by design in constant tension with each other. Each branch acts as a check on the others.

That's the design intent. When the same outside force suborns all three branches that design purpose fails.
