So, thinking about another kid in the future and trying to get a plan together. We’re probably going to find a place to store our own blood in case of emergency during delivery, but does anyone know if there’s a way to safely manage the issue of a RhoGam injection from non vax blood? Not sure if anyone’s dealt with that before but it’s the last piece of our puzzle before we’d ever make a move to try again.

Very interested to see what you find out, just found out we’re expecting another one. Def gonna be a battle with the ‘health’ system
Congratulations fren!
Congrats pede

I am not sure what you are asking...are you both Rh- and desire to store your own blood if needed or are you asking if you needed blood and had already gotten the RhoGam shot, how would that affect you and baby if you received a blood transfusion from someone else's unvaxxed (Rh-, I presume) blood. I have a daughter who received the Rho Gam shots twice but this was all before there was vaxxed and unvaxxed blood. I would think if you stored your blood after your shot, it would contain the necessary protection for the mother and baby. I am sure once you start your visits to a doctor, they will be able to answer any questions about the safest way to deal with the possibility of a transfusion. I personally would be wary that any blood I donated for my own use, would get lost in the shuffle once they took it. I do not trust the medical profession in any way, shape or form. Since you said another kid, I assume you have a doctor you have dealt with in the past. Maybe it would be good to talk to them before you get pregnant. Good luck on expanding your family...especially in these trying times. God bless...
Thank you for the reply and looking back I did write that poorly. Long story short, wife needs the shot and we lucked out with the first kid coming before the vax rollout. So now, it’s a matter of worrying about having to get a RhoGam shot that’s produced from vaxxed blood and then also trying to find a way to store pre pregnancy blood away for delivery in case a transfusion is necessary. Exciting times…
I think this sounds like something you need to discuss with your doctor...hope they are good. If no transfusions are needed hopefully it will all work out like before!
Be fruitful and multiply. You're thinking too much fren. It will be ok.
No...if they are Rh- it takes important intervention for the safety of mom and baby.
The problem is for subsequent pregnancies if mom is Rh- and dad is Rh+
Yeah I have a daughter who had to do RhoGam twice...I was replying to eyerighteye who said they "were thinking too much". This is one instance where it doesn't just work itself out. I actually did some research on Rh factor and it was quite interesting.
I had to do it twice too. It really is super important if a woman will have any more children.
An Rh- mom will miscarry an Rh+ baby. So if a woman is Rh- and the father is + there’s a 50/50 chance the baby will be + and the moms body will reject it. The Rhogam shot injects small amounts of someone’s random Rh+ blood into the mom to build up antibodies. So it could come from someone vaxxed.
Dang! I never even thought about storing blood incase of an emergency during pregnancy/birth. I highly doubt I will be able to get pregnant again but I also don’t know what God’s plan is for our family so it’s definitely always a possibility until I start menopause later on. I’m glad you brought this up b/c I will definitely be remembering this incase I miraculously get pregnant any time soon.
