I argue with my mom on this issue. We are both Christians.
The difference is that I have a simple moral code that God has given me.
I think a lot of religious people complicate the subject of faith.
My faith resolves around this. It's all I need.
Add in the Golden Rule as well
-
You shall have no other God before me.
-
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images.
-
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
-
Remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy.
-
Honor your father and mother.
-
Thou shalt not kill.
-
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
-
Thou shalt not steal.
-
Thou shall not bear false witness.
-
You shall not covet.
All the other stuff isn't worth the time to argue about in my view.
Created as a vessel: 2 Cor. 4:7 We have this treasure in earthen vessels Acts 9:15 This man is a chosen vessel to Me… Eph. 1:23 His Body, the fullness of the One who fills all in all. Eph. 3:19 that you may be filled unto all the fullness of God.
We were created in His image. One attribute of God is love (agape), and we have the ability to love, unlike snakes. In our natural man, we do not have agape love. That only comes from God, and fills our loving organ when "the love of God is poured out in our hearts (Rom. 5:5).
Christ didn't give you His perfection. When you are regenerated, He becomes one spirit with you (1 Cor. 6:17), and He Himself becomes your perfection, at least in your spirit. Then as your conscience is cleansed and your mind is renewed, He makes His home in your heart (Eph. 3:17). That takes place over time. Then, eventually, He will saturate even your mortal body (Rom. 8:11). At that point, you will be filled with Him completely.
We are a 3 part being: spirit, soul, and body (1 Thess.5:23). Each part needs to be saved. Our spirit is saved instantly and permanently when we are regenerated. Our soul is saved through time, and our body will be saved in the twinkling of an eye (1 Cor. 15:52).
I'm not speaking of the law. If we are led by the Spirit, we are not under the law (Gal. 5:18). I gave you the verses you asked for, but you don't want to engage based on the Bible. That is my only source, not your opinion, nor my opinion, and not any tradition. Solo Scriptura. You are not seeking information when you asked "how is the soul saved through time?" You are only seeking to disparage. So, I'm done. Bye.
