I'm old enough to remember when they sent you home with covid and told you to come back in a week or so for treatment when symptoms were unbearable. (And too late to employ effective treatments, eg HCQ and IVM, zinc, etc.)

Now, it's 'take a test right away' and 'act fast' to take their new medicine.
