Could the sats possibly broadcast WiFi from space... A capability we don't know about yet? Don't laugh, Facebook tried to do it, and the satellite blew up on the pad... over at SpaceX, BTW
I believe that Elon visited Tim Cook at Apple HQ and demonstrated the technology to him and said, be a good boy and I'll license the antenna technology to you for your phones, but mess with me, and I will end your entire business by building my own phone. I feel that would take Focus away from my ultimate goal which is to occupy mars. So what's it going to be? And well, you saw how Tim Cook and the whole remove Twitter from the App Store controversy abruptly ended....
What Happened to Facebook's Grand Plan to Wire the World?
Five years ago Mark Zuckerberg debuted a bold, humanitarian vision of global internet. It didn’t go as planned—forcing Facebook to reckon with the limits of its own ambition.
I can answer this. They can't. They don't have the power to do that. The sats are too small. They don't have the ability to gather enough power to transmit sufficient wattage to overpower anything.
Besides, the FAA's shutdown was IT related, not anything to do with low Earth orbit.
I agree, at least, on paper, this is not on their list of capabilities. Starlink is now launching Gen2 satellites. We don't know what their capabilities are. They are significantly larger . They only have about 50 of them in orbit right now I believe.
All I'm saying is that musk here is dropping a pretty big flex (that Starlink could take over and provide comms) for nothing if the Cyber attack happens and starlink is not able to step in and help.

I consider it a good possibility that Starlink was responsible for the recent FAA shut down.
What if Starlink's low orbit dominance could jam satellite systems in higher orbits?

No, because a regular WiFi transmitter isn't powerful enough to reply back to the satellite. Two way communication is required.
