I see what you're saying and understand, but maybe....maybe the doctored pics removed a 'veil' that was actually intended, as the subconscious suggests.

Why did it remind me of the Podesta 'Dahmer' statue? (Have we established the artist, btw?) Certain shared esthetic 'elements' including missing heads made the suggestion.
