Birth rate in all western nations is below 2.0, correct. In south america isn't it between 7.0 and 9.0?
In more developed parts of South America. The average for the continent is only slightly above Western Averages. At around 1.79

There’s absolutely nowhere on the planet with Fertility rates between 7 and 9
Are you sure? I could have sworn I read that somewhere a few years back pre-China virus. I even mentioned it to someone and they lambested me saying "the birth rate in south america is so high because the death of babies and children is also high.) I do remember having this conversation too, it was with my mother in law (who doesn't seem to find it troubling that our country is being invaded by mexicans and south americans.)
You may have had the conversation. But they could have been mistaken about the numbers.
The above is also an Average of the entire continent. It’s not broken down by country. So they may have been talking about an individual country. Even still it wouldn’t likely be anywhere near 7-9. 5-6 maybe. And that’s probably pushing it.
