Most people don’t like the truth. Also respecting others differences used to be a normal way of life. I grew up in the Bible Belt during the 70s. I miss those simpler times. I’m white and have a black friend that’s my dad’s age. We agreed to disagree on many things especially politics. We didn’t put each other down by saying “you are wrong”. We went on several trips and went shopping a lot. Once in a store a black man asked me was she my mom, I said yes because she was like a second mom. Also didn’t feel like a discussion on the subject. She’s moved out of state with her child. She had to move for medical reasons. I was talking to her a few years ago about the show, This Is Us. She was against the white parents raising a black child. I was kinda shocked and asked why. She said a child needs to grow up with their own kind. Meaning blacks and whites in the south are different also because that’s traumatic for a child. I’m not saying I agree or disagree. I don’t know enough about the subject to discuss or argue about it. Also many people choose to believe what they are told and taught. Many things influence how we treat others. I think the biggest influences are new, social media, teachers and TV/Movies. Most agendas are pushed by Hollywood. They start slowly until it’s accepted. Gay agenda has been strong over a decade. Lord forbid they mention Jesus.
