The Ark was hidden in this cave since long before the time of Jesus, and the place it was just happened to be underneath Gol Gotha, where He was crucified. When Jesus died, there was an earthquake. A crack opened in the ground and the blood of Jesus went down into the crack and fell upon the mercy seat.
