Now Millions of American kids might read Mark Twain books. :>) They can read "Uncle Tom's Cabin" by Harriet Beecher Stowe.
Here is a short list of books banned at many U.S. public schools;
"To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee
"The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank
"The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" by Mark Twain
"The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" by Mark Twain
"Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck
There are many others. I hope kids DO discover and actually read some of these too.
Ironically not in NJ. I’m 24 and we had to read at least 4 of these books in middle/high school.
Live in Jersey, read about four on the list. Favorite was Huckleberry Finn.
