How could people have been so asleep? Many intelligent people at that. How can you get to be middle aged and think everything is just fine, and the powers that be are actually doing what is best for the people, not themselves? Something in everyone's brains has to say, "Something isn't quite right here." Yet, here we are. I think most people are just afraid to wake up. Their dream state is comforting. Waking up means it's time to go to work.
