Funny, though somewhat scary thing... I once taught a college level US History course to a class of all Chinese exchange students. Most of them seemed like legitimate, authentic kids just trying to learn. One was just as lazy and disconnected as the average American college student. I sometimes think what if any of my former students were prospective spies 😳😂
But hey, at least I exposed them to the censorship employed by their government. They had never heard of Tiananmen or tank man... they couldn't even access internet videos on their laptops since they were of course, provided to them by their government. When they saw the videos, read the stories, their minds were completely blown. I'd like to think if any of them were sent to be spies, I helped encourage them to become double agents 😊
