one day, I hope normies wake up to understand the NFL (just like the WWE) is not and never was about winning
Win loss record exists internally in WWE but they really hate mentioning It.
Winners purse is still bigger too. Pro wrestling is a predetermined sport and theatre but much more honest than sportsball
And in some indie feds and even a few house shows, the rare on the fly shoot match still exists. Not that the wrestlers hurt each other but they will work a bit more stiff (real hits mixed between fake bumps) and don't know who wins til the end of the match (usually whoever is most gassed or comes up with the better ending)
that's what people didn't understand about old WWF/WWE
They hear scripted and think every blow is scripted... it wasn't, never was.
The story line was scripted, the general flow of events was scripted, the outcome was scripted, but just about everything inside the ring was up to the two participants and their ability to act and perform. Some did incredibly dangerous or violent moves, others just played ham to the crowd
The most hilarious storyline this year was the NFL having to punish Houston for tanking too obviously. They were legitimately bad, but then intentionally played non-competitively. The NFL had to force them to score a late touchdown and again on a blown coverage 2-point conversion to win the game/lose the #1 pick.
That aint win one for the gipper, that was a punishment for allowing questions on tanking to rise.
Yeah the outcomes were predetermined but it was largely up to the wrestlers to improvise the match itself.
