If this can keep Pence from running for president (which is a non issue here) doesn't it also give path to impeachment of the current "POTUS", based on the same grounds?
No. Two different laws are in play. One for former Presidents only. One for everyone else and it is more stringent.
Plus, if election rigging is blocked or stopped, MAGA will expand its control over Congress.
