I never found it that unusual. Sure it's good times to poke fun at alcoholism, but I can see a few ways it may have ended up there: Maybe he offered the intruder a drink to relax him, intruder finished his while Paul nursed his own so that he could stay sharp; or maybe it was a glass of water he poured for himself after asking for permission to allow the intruder to feel like he's in control; or maybe this question has been officially answered and I didn't bother looking into it ;)
I can’t say I know what was going on that night and of course it would be nice if our bias was confirmed because Paul Pelosi isn’t a good guy. It’s suspicious that it was the eve of the election but I’d say your arguments have credence too.
