A few years ago, I rolled my eyes when BLM was demanding that we defund the police. Now I’m starting to agree with them.
The past few months I’ve watched a lot of “first amendment auditors” on YouTube, and it’s now apparent that the vast majority of police are just “go along to get along”, and think they have FAR more authority than they actually do.
I’m thinking that the only police we really need are county Sheriffs. No FBI, no State Police, no local police departments.
If there is a large city in a Sheriff’s county, then the city can pay the Sheriff’s department for patrol and beat deputies to eliminate the PD.
County residents can vote to fund the Sheriff as they see fit, and the People have a direct way to redress grievances via the ballot box (assuming voting gets fixed, of course).
Currently there are several layers of bureaucracy between a citizen and the cop who is threatening to arrest him for filming in public, to the point where it’s very rare for any cop to ever really get punished for violating a citizen’s civil rights, thanks to “qualified immunity” and other pro-police policies.
What say you?
The problem is nobody has any morals anymore in society. This has seeped into law enforcement and now there is an insurgency with people who have no business doing the job being hired. Then you have incidents like this one in Memphis arise. The problem ultimately is the fact that this nation has turned its back on Christ. Repentance is the first and only move that we have. True repentance. Anything less and this country is destroyed.
If everyone was strapped, less people would want to find out about fucking around.
Make all cops become bonded at their own expense just like plumbers and electricians. Any awards from courts on wrongdoings to be paid out of the bond. Enough hits on their bond, they become uninsureable and thus unemployable as cops.
Love it!
We need police, but we need patriots, not tyrants.
I love all of you guys but we’re still missing the point of Christ. Christ in the hearts of men does amazing things.
The primary law enforcement authority should be our elected county sheriffs. We don’t need city police, DEA , agents, the FBI, CIA, etc. the elected sheriffs and they’re deputies are directly accountable to the people.
There needs to be more transparency in policing. I'm not talking about keeping the details of murder evidence under wraps, I'm talking about when they err.
Police departments should not be investigating themselves.
It should not take 7 years and several hundred thousand dollars for parents to find out the details of the circumstances of their son's death at the hands of the police. The son was under the influence of (addicted to) prescription drugs at the time. Had never been in trouble and had a promising future until a high school sports injury, then it all went downhill. This happened in Utah.
FWIW, our country sheriff is pretty worthless. And the Libtards of Utah view Constitutional Sheriffs as "tyrants."
Well I'm all for investigating real crimes, but if youre a punk ass cop fining kids for no helmets $350 we don't you. (Nsw Australia fine cost).
Volunteer police departments, like we have fire departments, seems like a cool idea
Big fish in little ponds are the worst.
