You were robbed by Nixon, and now you rob me. Medicare is 10x cheaper than my coverage, subsidized by us all. It won’t be there for me or my age cohort, an honest assessment and you would come to the same conclusion. So, since you were robbed you are happy to keep your hands in my pockets, hoping to pass the buck. Problem is, we aren’t replacing ourselves and with an inverted pyramid of demographics, the scheme ends soon.

I’m saying I’d you are free market then yes the elderly should pay their own way on healthcare. It’s the free market way. Many will suffer but the country wouldn’t implode from a currency debasement. I’m not blaming I’m saying it’s niece that we should pay even more and calling out the entitled attitude of the OP. Maybe insurance isn’t the solution and guess what people get sick and die, we can’t escape death. We clearly can’t subsidize millions in medical treatment for the elderly, it is bankrupting us. The argument is the same for welfare; I’m sympathetic to the fact that you didn’t set yourself up but it’s irresponsible as a nation to fund how much we do. We are 30Tvim debt and have over 160T in unfounded liabilities. Knowing this: op wants more. That’s why I push back so hard.

There's about 7 billion people on the earth today and that number is expected to rise to about 9 billion in a few years. If we do a really good job with vaccines, Healthcare and family planning, we can LOWER that number 10 to 15%. Bill Gates.

It's not necessarily caused by a shit diet. Diabetes is primarily a genetic condition.
Genetics may make you predisposed but it is diet that forces it into the open. I know people who are really bad diabetics that through diet and exercise alone have "cured" it to a point that by A1C testing a doctor they have never seen wouldnt know they had it. Stop the carbs, stop the sugar, moderate exercise. Adult-onset diabetes is a controllable condition, no drugs needed.
Type I is a different beast.
