I totally empathize with living in an area like you described. My wife and I lived in SoCal - and I work in the game industry. Every big Team meeting involved watching the chat talk about how much they hated people like you and me. Living in that environment is truly like living behind enemy lines - you're in a constant state of survival and "under attack". We moved back to Wisconsin a year ago and I still have PTSD that I'm working through.
All that said - if I may suggest another angle - I would consider praying for God to show you who and where you can help. I believe that we are where we are because God has a use for us where we are - relationships and circumstances are a huge part of that.
If you pray for God to let your eyes see what He wants you to see and see where He wants you to be - it WILL happen!
The best part of that - is that when it happens, you know that God had your back. Even in an environment like where you live.
If God has your back - that's all that matters. You are safe. And you're (doing His will) are unstoppable.
This is meant as encouragement.
Much love to you as you endure the circumstances you live in.
Thank you, and I know God has my back even though I’m pretty sure He’s tired hearing from me constantly 😉
I’d like to think I could have an impact on these people, but here’s a small, recent example of why I have strong doubts:
A colleague just this week, after the PV video dropped, said in a meeting, “if people are still unvaccinated at this point in time, I question their intelligence.”
Here’s another: During lunch with colleagues again on Friday after the Tyre/Memphis news dropped said, “this is why we need to continue to push to defund the the police.”
These people are the 4-6%. And for further context, this is NYC.
Until you said "This is NYC" at the end, I swore you were talking about exactly the people that we lived and I worked among for the last 8 years in Southern California outside of LA, lol...
My wife and I watched "friends" say that people who didn't take the shot should have their kids taken from them and deserved to die if they ended up needing hospital help. That sort of stuff scars your mind and emotions - as it sounds like you know well.
The "others" like you are few where you are - I still talk daily to my old co-workers who are at that game company in SoCal still - they are essentially living double lives - as they know if they are "outed", they will be fired and blacklisted for not being part of the "kill all dissenters" Borg...
God has the power to show you the mouse among the sea of cats. He has opened your eyes to this thing in a way that makes you a rescue boat where you are.
To me though - it just sounds like you know this stuff already and are simply tired and needing some respite yourself. Every frontline soldier needs to regather at the back now and then - able to drive yourself out of there for some vacation?
I'm sure visiting anywhere that is less nuts the NYC will feel like going to another planet, Lol.
