Funny/Sad/Pathetic observation regarding that image with the couple staring at their phones over the dinner table. My family of 3 (me, wife and child) ate lunch out this past weekend. No devices.

One table near us was a family of 5. Dad was on his phone watching football, wife was texting, all three kids on devices (one on phone, 2 on tablets). Not a single family member interacting with one another. It was disturbing. But that's not the worst part.

Same restaurant, same time, there was a team event with kids in soccer/football uniforms. Parents were at one large table and mostly mingling/chatting. But ALL the kids at their own table (10 year olds) were on devices playing games. Presumably all teammates, all sitting together at the same table, yet NONE OF THEM were interacting with each other.....instead, all glued to their devices. Strangest thing I've ever seen.
