Remember the 22-year-old virgin, Elliot Rodger? He was the mixed-race son of a Hollywood filmmaker, (white British/Malaysian-Chinese) who grew up in a life of privilege. He was a loner and spent most of his time playing video games and posting online. He played no sports, nor joined any clubs at school. He wrote missives about himself, and left a 141-page document describing his upbringing, mental health and his deep-rooted desire for, but resentment towards, beautiful blonde college girls (who usually had boyfriends) and who always seemed to spurn his advances.
He was an odd bird, small of stature and grandiose of thought. He was certain that these extremely attractive girls he stalked and spied on as they walked hand-in-hand with their boyfriends, would be desperately attracted to him, (no matter the boyfriend) and when they rejected his awkward advances he was confounded and angry, threatening quietly to himself how he would make them pay.
I remember reading his social media posts to my then-college-aged daughter. She laughed and said, "What a weirdo". He is all bluster. No one is falling for those threats."
She was shocked to find out that he did indeed do the murderous deeds he threatened, not long thereafter.
LESSON: Mental illness should be identified and treated as soon as it manifests, not excused, enabled and tolerated in the name of 'Diversity' until it erupts into madness.
