I lived in Japan for a year! I enjoyed my year there. The Japanese are wonderful people. They are very polite but tend to be very conformist. They have a saying that goes something like this: "The blade of grass that sticks up will be mowed down". That being said they can be tough as nails, unmovable and unshakable. This has got to be very difficult for them. But the data/evidence before them is undeniable.
