Yup, frustrating to have to pay for coverage you have zero access to as a parent.
They tried this crap here with me in South Dakota stating that my son could restrict access to his medical information once he turned 13. They told me I had to have him sign a form stating that I could have access to his written and digital charts. I told them that it wasnt happening and if they thought that I was paying for any of his visits without having information that they could get bent. Two weeks went by and I had access to his med records. The problem is that parents dont stand up against this bs.
