I didn't even know how to open a computer until I was 50 and that was a crash course in college. I'm not comfortable with learning anything new. I simply want to enjoy what life I have left with what knowledge I have.
Boom
I am with you sister. I do enjoy learning, for my own mind, to think about things, but technology has never been in my realm of understanding. To confess how bad I am at it, I bought an electronic training collar for my Springerdoodle, and I have not even taken it out of the box yet, I have to make a special time to practice so that I do not ruin how it is programmed. It's like math to me. Give me dirt, plants, seeds, animals, an ill person, ingredients and a stove, a bible discussion, I am right there.Give me a manual that describes how to set up a juicer and my first reaction is mild panic and a woeful lack of confidence that I an do it. I should have been born a century ago.
You sound so much like me. I had bought a new crockpot. The kind with just the lid and a knob with high, medium and low. Just like I wanted. I always used mine with aluminum foil under the lid to help it cook much better. I had this one for one year. My son and his wife, seeing the aluminum foil under the lid, went and bought me one with the sealed lid that latches and a timer that has 3 setting areas. I was so upset over it that I put it in my shed and told them I'd use it when this one quit. One day my daughters crockpot quit working and knowing it to be indecent to give her the new one her brother and his wife bought me, I gave in and gave her my much loved one. So I had to go to the shed and get the new one out, take it out of the box and read the instructions. It was easy enough to use once I read it, but it still doesn't cook as good as my old one with the aluminum foil under the lid. That Christmas my daughter-in-law said she didn't know what to get me because I was so picky. I don't think I am, but I let her say it. So I told her, IF I HAVE TO READ INSTRUCTIONS, I DON'T WANT IT. If it's a new blouse, socks, a broom or a duster or some perfume that doesn't need explaining, then you've got it.
