Small businesses? Ha! They'll be forced out via taxes and regulations, so the only businesses will be corporate chains. Think food deserts are bad now, wait until your designated zone has the one grocery store in it close because of the rampant shoplifting. Then you'll have to dip into your 100 allotted excursions to do your weekly grocery run. Might have to do it twice a week, as you'll be limited by how much you can carry.
No dumbass when you build sprawl you get globalist corps who move in. When you have small towns with small retail stores you get mom and pop stores which are just about perfectly fit into msmaller buildings with lots of foot traffic
Ok, but the "15 minute city" isn't small town, it's sprawl segmented into zones you're sequestered into.
Yes it’s a series of small town centers but nobody is going to restrict you from going outside that. But the idea that you can get most stuff you need in your own neighborhood seems pretty nice
It's literally stated that you have to request permission to go outside your zone and are only allotted 100 such trips a year. I don't believe for a second that each zone will be like living in a small town. It will be urban blight, only your movements will be monitored and restricted.
