Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an intergral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on it's evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I am filming my keto recipes and putting them on YouTube with some music I made long ago. Here’s my second one: Almond buns.
Is it practical enough for viewers/cookers?
This video is perfect. Just the way it should be, well I would suggest skipping the separation of each egg individually and just skip from the first to the last.
I have tried egg beaters before and they always make such a mess. The jug(?) you use for beating egg is clever, I need to try this. Manually beating puts me off doing anything with egg beating because my arms aren't what they used to be :(
I watch the video later and let you know. I’m looking for low carb alternatives. Almond buns sounds fantastic.
The video is « Quick’nDirty » but the buns are fantastic: I could make keto burgers with this recipe.
Ohhhh that sounds awesome. My mom just bought some almond flour, and I’ve been thinking about some recipes. I’ll check this out. Are the butter cookies made with almond flour as well?
Actually, Almond flour is expensive in Switzerland so everything I make is cooked using Almond powder. Psyllum is just fiber, as I couldn’t find some today, I bought flaxseed hulls which are much cheaper. I will let my public know about that experiment.
Wow I really like this idea. Keep it up. In future when prayer garden is fully up and running, I would love to help highlight things like this
I finally made my plans for Hawaii. It will be in May and June of this year. I will keep you posted on coming on your show.
Oh awesome I look forward to discussing it more in future. Truly appreciate it. God bless u.
First, I could seriously taste and smell those buns!
Recipe looks great. I do agree a little more prominent showing of ingredients as you go (in writing) with measures would improve. I am looking forward to trying.
Curious, I have always been taught to fold in egg whites so they don't lose the airiness. Also, what did you add to the egg whites (white powder) that isn't on your ingredient list?
Well done!
Salt. Sorry for not mentioning it.
As a keto person who craves some bread or something at times, these look amazing. Easy enough to make. I agree about putting the ingredients on the description. I have all of this stuff except the psyllium husks. Is it necessary? I’ve made a bunch of things with almond flour. To be honest, it is usually gritty texture-wise but maybe the egg whites help that? I’ve added cheddar to simple keto biscuits (I can’t remember where you’re from but they’re not cookies- they’re generally fluffier and savory.)
I’ve followed
https://thebigmansworld.com/keto-almond-flour-biscuits/
https://www.the-girl-who-ate-everything.com/keto-biscuits/ and I liked the outcome but hate those recipe/cooking pages because you have to read way too much stuff to get to the actual recipe. So I appreciate a video like yours.
I just use a plain muffin pan sprayed with olive oil spray.
Anyway, your music made me sad. Sorry, man. But nice effort!!! I’m gonna try them.

Hello Fren, as I told some other Fren, the music is just an old theme of mine from 1998, which I chose because of its duration. I also posted my recipe for butter cookies (filmed at the same time): https://youtu.be/bqCDfbF8nUQ
I love butter cookies, I’m going to check this one out for sure. At Christmas time I make press cookies. And I love them. Love love love them.
Cooookiessss!
