We have tablets and horse paste that we've been saving for a rainy day. Well, my husband and I have both come down with pretty bad head colds and I'm curious about trying ivermectin so I can recuperate over the weekend and be ready for Monday.
Has anyone here ever had a BAD experience with this stuff? Negative reactions or side effects?
Don't take too much ivermectin or else it'll make your eyesight blurry all weekend. True story, not being sarcastic. Known side effect.
I’m currently taking the paste for a cold. I’ve been taking it about for 4 days now. I believe it has helped prevent symptoms from turning into a sinus infection. Like catsfive said, I have had some slight blurriness the past few days. Never knew about this side effect before, but can confirm. It’s not too awful, but feels like my glasses are a little clouded.
YES EXACTLY OMG this board is so damn awesome. Like I replied elsewhere I had no fuckin idea.
HUH. I've been noticing this actually. OK so maybe there is a side effect. The problem is, my lenses are old and hard, I have several Rxs for different distances/purposes, and my computer monitors are too close which I know exacerbates distance issues (things clear up noticably when I do say a day drive, by the end of the day), so I just figured "drat, it's getting worse FFS."
I've never taken it myself, but to the OP, I'd advise seeing this comment. Multiple friends have taken it to combat cold/flu type stuff. The only adverse reaction they've noted to me is impaired vision for a brief period. They recommended taking at night after a meal before sleep. But I'm not a doctor nor do I play one on TV.
Thanks. I never heard anything about this until now.
Again, not from personal experience but thru word of mouth. All I've heard is that if vision loss is a side effect, take before bed when vision isnt required.
i had a negative reaction to the paste, just saying, so proceed with caution. i woke up one morning and it took a significant amount of time for my eyes to adjust to the kitchen light while i was making coffee and breakfast. i didn't make the connection then. however the next morning, it took half the day to get my eyesight straightened out. it was almost like someone was sliding the dimmer on the light switch up and down. i was freaking out a bit and realized that i had just started a round of pea-sized paste treatments a couple days before and that was likely the cause. i did some internet digging and saw that was a potential side-effect. i stopped taking the ivermectin immediately and i'm not saying i won't take it again ever but i'd have to be in really bad shape to risk that again.
take this for what it's worth, thought you'd appreciate something outside of "group think" you often get on these boards.
Ya tablets better. Horse paste you ODed on.
Yep. Thats why I prefer 12 mg tablets over horse paste.
Thanks, brother. I was not aware of this. I took the proper dose for my size, or as close as I could get.
You did the right thing. I guess the addict in me had to find out what it was like to do too much. Once I only took, what, too little Parts at a time, everything was no problem. Then I dialed the pace down to one because I figured, hey, I'm not trying to hit 12 here, I'm just doing this for a stretch of 90 days to get through the parasite cycle.
