I'm afraid you are right. This is an excellent demonstration of how bad it is for the elderly, the older one is, the greater the increased mortality. I'm hoping that the damage to younger people will be a bubble effect, like exposure to a nuke, mass damage at the outset for some and lingering effects for many, but eventually returning to normal. We won't know for generations, though.
The very population (>65) are also exponentially more susceptible to death by vaccines.
However, I do believe the effect on younger population is longer term and much harder to capture.

Thats what I suspect it is. Hopefully by the time everyone wakes up, the young ones have not hit the exponential part of their mortality graph.
