What could be more natural than shoving a square peg into a round hole as your species withers and dies because no viable offspring are being produced. This is one of the dumbest things I've read in quite a while. If discarding gender was a valid strategy we would have seen it happen somewhere in nature already.

Sexual reproduction is the gold standard of high-functioning organisms. Same-sex relationships among mammals produce no viable offspring. Mutilating one's genitals to resemble the genitals of the opposite sex does not magically transform them to produce the sex cells needed to produce offspring.
