BILLINGS, Mont. — The Trump administration said Thursday it was withdrawing a proposal for freight trains to have at least two crew members, nullifying a safety measure drafted under President Barack Obama in response to explosions of crude oil trains in the U.S. and Canada.
Going by the official narrative, the train engineer was ordered by dispatch to keep moving despite the burning wheel. Would having an additional crew member changed dispatch's decision? I am unconvinced.
It's an Obama era regulation. Given what we know about Hussein's administration, I'm going to trust Trump on this and assume that Obama rule was never there for actual safety reasons.
