Yes and no.
Plants want you to eat their fruits (with the seeds).
Every other part of the plant, in general, no.

Here'a crazy idea: some claim that the reason why we are so attuned to color, and especially to red, is that we are fruit-eating animals.

Look up fruitarians on YouTube -- people who only eat fruit -- and you will see individuals who look like they are skeletons with a pulse.

There was a pair of them down in Australia a while ago. The male was a cyclist and called himself "Durian Rider".
Both of them came to, over time, look very sickly and gaunt. The female took longer because she had stores of fat on her, and was probably also getting sperm.
I think humans absolutely without doubt adapted to eat fruit. Just look at our modern behaviors. All of those stem from the old ways.
But the eating of fruit was in third quarter of the year (Northern Hemisphere), and designed to pack on the calories as fat in the advent of Winter.
We were not meant to eat fruit 365 days a year.
The fruit is a supplement to the main course, which is meat. Imagine, if you will, cavemen. They would hunt and gather. The gathering part is there to stretch the meat supply, not replace it.
Also, it is sensible to harvest a tree of pre-historic apples, but not to harvest grass seeds (grain) that needs to be then fermented to be made made edible.
Yes, I have come to this conclusion myself. After a long battle with chronic hives and arthritis from eating 'healthy vegetables', I find I can only tolerate the occasional fruit i.e. an avocado once a week.

Please try The Lion Diet. only meat from ungulates, plus eggs if you can tolerate them, and butter/lard/tallow. Add in sardines and oysters after 40 days to see if you can tolerate them.
Yes, the Lion diet was what finally broke the back of all my problems. It was the Petersons who woke me up, so to speak.
