Asking for prayers frens.
🧘Mental/Physical Health 🏋🏼♂️
Just got blindsided with having to have a double hernia repairs, my child with Achondroplasia having to have his guide growth plates to fix his bowlegs taken out and find that my house needs a new roof and that cost is upwards of 35k. I make decent money (85k) and have some savings but I am unsure how I will pay for all of this. Insurance will help with the medical side a bit but it all has taken a toll on my mental health and am just asking for prayers. Thanks to this group and getting back to church and God has helped. This is just a lot to digest. Thank you all.
It's because of it's pitch 10/12, and apparently 51 squares. Still seems high. More quotes to come.
One place I did not think to check with were local insurance company offices. They have to get repairs done, and know people with good skills and reasonable prices in the area. Went to several companies price-shopping for insurance, and mentioned my roof issue. One agent pulled open his desk drawer which was filled with business cards from all the local tradesmen, and steered me to a roofer. I was very pleased with his price and quality of work.
Hint: if there is any sort of storm damage like from hail that may have caused leaks, it may be covered by home insurance. See if the roofers find evidence, and if yes, then have the home insurance company send an adjustor, cross your fingers and pray. Worked out like that for a widow I know.
Thanks. Even if it's past it's useful life? I've heard of it but didn't think it would be possible because of it's age.
Just be careful if you use your insurance because if you have another claim, even a small one, they’ll drop you and it’ll be hard to get insurance. I know three people that that has happened to. If the roof is old they may pay for it but take off for it being old.
I agree with u/JFQ17 - call and ask, without submitting a claim. With a little grace from God, you might find folks who are willing to work with you.
