From July 2022

He noted the United States is ready to start training Ukrainian pilots at Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi and possibly in Texas as well. It would take about three months to train the pilots to fly the F-15s and F-16s at a basic level.

The Senate is not expected to vote on its version of the defense authorization bill until September at the earliest, then both chambers must agree on compromise legislation in conference committee. Should Kinzinger’s amendment survive conference, the United States could be training Ukrainian pilots here as soon as next year.

Yes. How are you tying this to the Blackhawk crash? Am genuinely interested in your thoughts.

Little side note - hubby is a retired AF fighter pilot. For a while he worked at the Defense Language Institute at Lackland AFB. He worked with pilots from all over the world who came to the US to learn to fly these planes. We went to some cool parties.

I’m just thinking that something is weird with a helo going down here. I get accidents happen in training. This article says they’d be trained in Mississippi (or maybe Texas). Mississippi borders Alabama. I’m just trying to make it make sense.

One thing I did notice is that the details of the accident are vague. How many on board and where were they from?
