- 11 rail cars carried hazardous materials
- 5 rail cars released Vinyl Chloride, a flammable, colorless liquified gas that causes liver, brain, and lung cancer

- 1 waterway was directly impacted - the Leslie Run. It feeds the Little Beaver Creek, a tributary to the Ohio River.
- 5 Million Americans get water from the Ohio River.
- 74 Million Americans get water from the various tributaries and outlets of the Ohio River, which feeds the Mississippi River
- 1 Billion+ animals of varying types - livestock and wildlife - depend on these waterways for life
- None of the waterways have ever hit a sustained 82°F in human history
- 3500 fish and aquatic animals have died in the Leslie Run in the past week
- Almost all small livestock have died in East Palestine since Friday, 10 February, especially poultry
- 4800 residents call East Palestine home
- 94% are White
- 81% of the 74 Million Americans that depend on the Ohio River and associated waterways, including the Mississippi for water for themselves and/or their livestock are White
- Zero FEMA officials have arrived to East Palestine as of 15 February
This was not an accident. This is genocide.
For those who cannot install one themselves and cannot afford to hire someone. There are gravity fed filters that work too. Better yet, there are also countertop distillers. They are a little more expensive up front but no need for a plumber if you can't install(reverse osmosis) it yourself. Distillation is the best way to remove any and all chemicals and other non-friendly-human pathogens.
And bathe once a week? I’m on my 2nd distiller in 3 years. The bathing part is a problem for these folks. I hope they end up stinkin rich but more importantly healthy. God bless you E. Palestine
How does distillation work when the water is contaminated with chemicals that boil off with the water? Wouldn't it just condense back into liquid with the steam?
I have an r/o filter on my counter top. One does not need a plumber for it. It would certainly be more convenient to have it under the sink where the water is made all the time, on demand. I'd like that better BUT I cannot do that in this rental. I am grateful for the counter-top one. I HAD a Berkey but during 2020, the filters were not functioning as they always had. I'd used the Berkey since 2011, a really nice stainless steel one. The Berkey filters are quite expensive now; always were though.
Distillation does make for a more pure output.
