It's important not to let the governments build and start to use new smart infrastructure such as the surveillance for car restrictions. You have to say "no" loudly and early or they build it without your consent.
I recently went to a planning meeting for a similar scheme in my own city. We told them that we didn't want any changes but they keep coming back looking for anyone to agree with them and justify smart traffic restrictions in one pilot "zone" of the city. They have already built what look like 5G towers at many of the intersections. They did so without asking the public. Much of the infrastructure was quietly built during the lockdown when people couldn't protest.
You can't let them have a single inch or they will take a mile.
