Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an intergral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on it's evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Oh gosh, can’t think of three authors off the top of my head. But I sure would love to spend time with one of my twin daughters. She left us at 3 years old. It’s already been right at 27 years because her sister turns 30 on St Patricks Day. Before she left this earth free from cancer, she told us of all her trips to Heaven, and she even had an Angel named Tommy that would come in her room at night. I would stand at her door and listen to her talk to him. I’m quite sure that she, Tommy and Jesus have many stories to tell me . ❤️
I would like to trade the 3 weeks with three authors to whatever time I can be gifted with my Dad. Tomorrow is his birthday in Heaven.
He died 22 years ago of cancer and was back within 5.5 hours cracking jokes. He’s taught me much about Heaven and what goes on there and his conversations have solidified my faith in God, Heaven, and the afterlife.
He got me through the worst parts of my life and I’ll be forever grateful to him. I’ve used what he taught me to teach others and even wrote a book about it.
Koosers, Dad. I’ll forever hold you in my heart. Until we speak again …
Moses Paul and John.
I can only think of one immediate choice: Vonnegut.
Tendies' picks are right up my alley, for sure, though I've never read any Douglas Adams(!?!) - wife loved him.
Philip K Dick would be a weird hang.
Ralph Ellison to round it out.
Very difficult question.
I get the feeling I wouldn't like Asimov. 😁
Any of the 12 disciples, Michael Crichton, Benjamin Franklin
