some days ago someone posted an excel sheet with the numbers since 1975 - the average was about 1.000 - 3.000 "accidents, total", "derailments"/year since the 90s:
(it is set to the first 'page'/tab "graph", but go to the second 'page'/tab "2-41" at the bottom of the excel sheet and scroll to the right for further years until 2021)
a few ppl in the thread claims to debunked this but nevertheless the chain of events it shows is remarkable
