In the UK, when I shop in a supermarket that offers 'points' etc. I always offer them to the people behind me in the queue.

This has several benefits:

  1. The person I give them to gets free points they can use
  2. It screws up the purchasing history analysis of the person I give them to
  3. I get the discounts without having to have a store card that tracks all my purchases

I loan my grocery store card to others in line. It really screws up their algorithms. They don't know if I'm a Southerner or a Mexican. And yes, I've had some of those religious candles bought while a Mexican was using my card. :)
