It's pretty easy actually if you think about it. Remember the tsar Bomba? I think I read somewhere that you could feel the shock waves and vibrations from that on the other side of the world. Shouldn't be that hard to detonate a nuclear bomb on a fault line

But wouldn't that be detected by seismologists? I'd imagine that would not look like an organic earthquake.
