There is a Soviet era Latvian poet, Ziedonis. I think this line conveys the notion quite well: "kukainit redz ka sauli spit" or translated, "tiny insect, look how the sun does shine".

When faced with insurmountable doom & gloom, we must hold our heads high for there is always warmth & light ahead.

I for one, look forward to Trump's second term.
