I take a diuretic and have to also take 4 large KCl horse pills daily in order to replenish the lost potassium. We get very little in our regular diet and it is more easily washed out by the renal system. You are not going to get "potassium poisioning" by using it in lieu of lots of sodium (which is not good for you).
