Ok I think I went through most of these links but many didn't pertain to Macs. And I'm not real savvy when it comes to following computer lingo anymore! Too old to care I think. Like my browser has absolutely no ads. I don't know. I can tell when my info is sold to somebody because of the ads that pop up. That's why I'm no longer on Facebook. And I refuse to put anything google on my computer. I have p.o.'d a few people because I refused to put tic toc and google calendar on my system. But I don't care. Apple well......what can I say......I'm perplexed....
For Mac try Epic browser. It doesn't keep a "History" and cookies are dumped each time you quit. (Those features make it unusable for shopping, banking, etc. but that's the point.)
For search use https://presearch.com or www.yandex.com
For Mac I use "Brave" browser only for YouTube, because it skips the adverts.
For Mac I use "Firefox" browser for its "Reader" view feature that cleans up pages and bypasses many subscription pop-ups.
There are other Mac browsers, too: Vivaldi, TorBrowser, Slimjet, Aviator, Maxthon and, of course, Safari, which also supports the "Reader view" option (in the View menu).
Thank you for the info. TorBrowser is the one I received the most responses but for now i'm switching to Firefox because I am familiar with it and will check on the TorBrowser. Thanks fren for your time and expertise

For Macs, I suggest the much easier to install and use browsers Tor Browser or Firefox.
Ungoogle-Chromium is harder to install. As it requires command lines. It does have an installer for Macs. But both Tor Browser and Firefox are much easier to install. They both also have stronger security and privacy than Ungoogle-Chromium.
If you're not familiar with Tor Browser and Firefox. Below are details and links to easy and quick installer for other operating systems.
Alternative 1 of 3. Tor Browser.
Tor Browser is easy to install and use. And it is by far the strongest privacy and security. But it is slower.
Firefox is the easiest to install and use. It is also the fastest of all browser. It has good security and privacy. But not as strong as Tor Browser above. Both Tor Browser and Firefox could be installed on the same device and use at the same time.

Alternative 3 of 3. Ungoogled-Chromium browser with Chromium Web Store extension.

Some of the home screens I get from Brave have been pretty sus. Pro cyrpto/NFT ads, petty sure I saw the illuminati triangle once, etc.
I have firefox already on my computer so I will switch to that for now. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond.
