What's interesting about this is that the record # for the Jessica York that appears in the Thaler Law report does not match that in the official record, which gives York the # 333453 and the "Jessica York" who appears on the alleged fraudulent forms has the # 549041. There are NINE "Yorks" in all!

Doesn't a notary just witness people signing documents? Check signers IDs and log the date, time and document type so the notary can attest officially. That's been my experience in one state. Are there other duties in other states?
Ya that is pretty much the extent of it. Although not every state actually requires a log book. Which, to me, seems really odd. We didn't have to use a log book. It was merely "suggested." But if you are actually someone who holds themselves out to the public for this service and charge a fee for it, I would think it would be stupid not to have a log. After all, if you get called to attest to your signature as notary, how would you know you actually did this notarization?
