Seriously, I'm so tired of this woke bullshit, I was really enjoying this show but why does everything have to be alphabet soup garbage. Would one normal thing be acceptable?! I'm so tired of this shit propaganda.

The gay stuff is true to the game's original story but damn episode 3 was over the top with basically an hour of Ron Swanson being the little spoon 🤮
Doesn't change my point. There's no need for the game to have been like this either. Like how is everyone left on earth gay or blind or disabled or minority or whatever in these films. Straight up propaganda bullshit. I just can't figure out why they want everyone gay and trans?
I agree Fren. 0retty damn sick of it myself.
And Joel's daughter is now black in series but white in game....
Yup. Of course they wouldn't miss a chance to go interracial either.
Such potential in that show. But sadly it's falling victim to the usual checklist of suspects.
Exactly.
I never played the sequel so I wasn't able to get any first-hand insight into the trans character controversy. I just thought the whole thing seemed ham-fisted and corny.
The show looked interesting and I was thinking it would be good to watch this but didn't have the time. Glad I didn't have time. LOL
It's too bad because it was filmed in my city, I wanted to support it.
I understand.
Yup.
Same thing happened in Vikings. I was enjoying the killing and mayhem and strategy then they bring on the lesbians followed by a gay French king. They didn’t keep those stories rolling but had to put it in there.
At least back in Spartacus there was an incredible amount of straight fucking to balance things out.
You should watch at least Breaking Bad. Maybe the last sane show we will see in our lifetimes.
If you give up TV, you will stop missing it after about 2 weeks, and your life will be happier from there on.
These were characters in the game, so I'm not sure why it's surprising that they were also in the TV show
It's not that they changed anything. It's that they overly embellished it and drug it out. they went over the top with episode 3 and shoved it down our throats.
The difference between a tv show and a video game is a tv show is going to have to spend a lot more time on character development. Video games can rely more on action to keep the player invested, but that’s not something that can carry episode after episode for a tv show.
They didn't have to spend a whole hour on Ron Swanson getting plugged to "develop his character". In the game he was only known to be gay by a note you can find. Why is that? Well because whether he likes ladies or likes taking it the Hershey highway didn't matter to the story or character development one bit.
To me, It doesn't matter if someone is gay or not. That's their choice. Just like in real life, as long as you don't shove your choice down my throat, I'm fine with you.
I genuinely don’t understand what’s wrong with seeing non-hetero/non-white relationships.
Did you miss my point? The game shouldn't have had this shit either, and they are embellishing beyond sensibility and reason.
Why shouldn’t it have had that shit in the game? That’s the story people write. If you don’t enjoy it I don’t know why you thought the show would be different
I didn’t play the game. It shouldn’t have had all the gay shit because there’s no need for it and it’s demented.
K
They barely talk about bill being gay in the game. Its briefly mention for like 10 secs. Yet they fill a whole episode about it.
Two episodes now.
Yes. Unlike with a video game, a television show will not be able to rely only on player gameplay to fill time. They will need to dedicate time to either action sequences and/or character development to create a TV show that can fill several episodes over a season
Bill was a pointless character in the game and so was tess. Joel and Ellie were what made it good.
A TV show is going to have more than two characters that they’re going to develop over several episodes though. Even if they were minor characters in the game a script is going to require more than just the main two
