Wagner forces are about 1 km away from cutting off the last exit roads from Bakhmut. After boldly proclaiming all summer that it was an impenetrable fortress, Ukrainian leadership is now talking about strategically giving up the city (great wording) right after sacking the defense minister. We'll see if anyone even makes it out or if it'll become the next Stalingrad.

Meanwhile in the EU, newspapers are posting headlines like "Wagner may take Bakhmut but Russia's will to fight is already broken". Yeah, maybe they got tired of winning. I'm sure it'll be "We fought for six months and lost countless lives for a meaningless village that totally wasn't important" next. Now the US is talking about when Ukraine is going to start paying back for all the weapons shipments.
