There are people who get really upset when you do that (check their post history). I've seen people (on Reddit, not on here) get really whiny about it, as if it's some kind of "cheat" to look at what they themselves wrote to see if they're consistent in what they post.
The other technique I like is "Oh, I've had an account here for a long time but I lost my password and had to make a new account!!" Sure thing! I'll bet your dog ate your homework, too!
Thanks for the heads-up. When I see a highly questionable post, I want to have a feel for the person. Sometimes people just have a brain fart, other times you can see a pattern.

We don’t worship Putin, we just point out that he’s fighting the same people Trump has been fighting, and that Ukraine consists of a bunch a Nazis committing warcrimes.
