Ultimately. We’ve entered an AI and frankly tech arms race. And whoever develops the best AI and tech will in essence be handed the keys to the world. The internet and anything on it will in essence be laid bare.
I mean the question of whether we should or should not pursue development. Is moot at this point. That ship sailed a long time ago. Some on the right are only now having the conversation about AI development and weighing the Pros and Cons now.
Realistically and Ideally that conversation should have happened on a societal level in the 90s and early 2000s. By and large it didn’t. Now fast forward to 2023.
Development is going full steam ahead. By and large the people fiercely pursuing development are left-wing. While the right by and large is still getting it’s metaphorical pants on when it comes to this conversation.
